I have never been a HUGE James Bond fan, but I have seen a few of the movies over the decades. I have not seen the latest one now playing in theaters, but I found this and thought it was interesting to share with you.

Daniel Craig has revealed that he is pressurising producers to include a gay scene in the next James Bond film.

The "Casino Royale" star is riding a wave of popularity following the success of his first turn as the legendary superspy and is intent on revolutionising the franchise by making its lead character more unpredictable.

In addition to pushing for a gay scene in "Bond 22", the British thesp has assured bosses that he is more than prepared to do a full frontal nude scene to please his male and female admirers.

He said: "Why not? I think in this day and age, fans would have accepted it.

"I mean, look at (British TV series) 'Doctor Who' - that has had gay scenes in it and no one blinks an eye."

Casino Royale, Craig's first flick as Bond has grossed over $115 million at the US box office in its first three weeks of release. It was #2 at the box office this pase weekend, followed by the animated comedy "Happy Feet."

Dr. Doogie Likes Dick... Neil Patrick Harris Is Gay

This story broke late Friday, so it may be old by now to you, but I felt it still deserved a blog entry.

From People Magazine.com: Neil Patrick Harris is gay ? and wants to quell recent reports that he had denied it. The actor tells PEOPLE exclusively:

"The public eye has always been kind to me, and until recently I have been able to live a pretty normal life. Now it seems there is speculation and interest in my private life and relationships.

"So, rather than ignore those who choose to publish their opinions without actually talking to me, I am happy to dispel any rumors or misconceptions and am quite proud to say that I am a very content gay man living my life to the fullest and feel most fortunate to be working with wonderful people in the business I love."

Harris, 33, currently stars in the CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother. He shot to fame in 1989 at age 16 when he played a teen-prodigy doctor on the hit Doogie Howser, M.D. "It was a very fast but wonderful education," he told PEOPLE in 1998.

After the show went off the air in 1993, he shook off his teen image with roles in the musicals Rent and Assassins and a wild turn as an unhinged version himself in the 2004 movie Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle.

"I'm enjoying my 30s," he told PEOPLE in 2004. "I feel like I know where I'm going. And I like where I'm going."

So what is up with all these celebrities coming out in the pages of People magazine lately? It is becoming the "in" thing to be gay and then announce it via People Magazine. As reported here first, we had Lance Bass from 'N Sync come out this summer, then T.R. Knight from Gray's Anatomy made the announcement last month, and now Neil Patrick Harris admits he'd gay, all in People Magazine. So, who will be the next celebrity to kick down the closet door and come out? I won't say who I think it should be... I'll just paint you a mental picture...

Saddam Loves South Park!

If this is true, it has to be the funniest thing I've heard in a long time!

British tabloid The Sun reported that US Marines have been forcing the former Iraqi dictator to watch an offensive caricature of himself in low-brow animated film South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut on repeat.

The film was banned in Iraq when it opened seven years ago, not least for its depiction of Hussein as a flamboyant and libidinous homosexual.

In the film, Hussein's evil counterpart is none other than Satan, with whom he shares an erotic relationship.

In one of the few scenes with repeatable dialogue, Hussein remarks in a high-pitched voice: "This is getting me so hot. Rub my nipples while I torture this little piggy."

The makers of South Park Trey Parker and Matt Stone, who voices the character of Hussein were reported to have boasted the story at the Edinburgh International Television Festival.

"I have it on pretty good information from the Marines," The Sun reported Stone as having said.

"That's really adding insult to injury. I bet that made him really happy."

Parker and Stone are no strangers to offending high-profile viewers. Earlier this month it was reported that actor Tom Cruise threatened to boycott promotion of his new film Mission Impossible: III if Paramount's parent company did not cancel the screening of an episode of South Park which lampooned Scientology. Paramount have since ended their 14-year relationship with the actor.

Brokeback Joker

I'm back from my long weekend! This news broke over the weekend, but in case you missed it, here is the information again, from MTV.com.

The last time we saw the Joker in a Batman movie, he was trashing the Gotham Art Museum and grinning his maniacal grin while busting up busts and painting over masterpieces to a soundtrack by Prince.

In the upcoming sequel to Batman Begins, Oscar nominated Heath Ledger, 27, will get his shot at the villain Jack Nicholson reinvented in 1989 when he takes over the role of the Joker. According to Variety, the Brokeback Mountain lead has signed on to be the bad guy in The Dark Knight, which is expected to go into production early next year.

Christian Bale will be back as Batman/Bruce Wayne, joined by Batman Begins director Christopher Nolan, whose brother Jonathan, will write the script. Jonathan Nolan previously penned the screenplay for 2006's The Prestige, directed by his brother and starring Bale, and wrote the short story that inspired Christopher Nolan's 2000 breakthrough Memento.

The sequel to the $370 million grossing Batman Begins will likely be released in the summer of 2008, Variety reported, where it could face stiff competition from the next James Bond flick and another big-screen superhero adaptation, Iron Man.

Sounds interesting to me. I have been a fan of Heath Ledger since I saw him in A Knight's Tale, so having him play a villian for a change will be something not to miss!

And as a parting shot, if you haven't seen the now famous photos snapped of Heath Ledger nude on the set of Brokeback Mountain, here they are for your pleasure.

Sexy Pirates -Arrrgh!

OK, I'm not going to talk about something specifically gay today, but gay men hopefully can still relate.

I felt like I was the last person in America to see the new Pirates of The Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest movie since I didn't go until last night to check it out. Seeing how the movie shattered almost every box office record this past weekend, when I decided to wait until Monday to see it, it felt like forever. But I did see it last night. And to be honest... it was only fair.

Here's why I said that... The special effects and make-up were incredible. To the point where you really think this is all real. The actors did a decent job with what they had to work with. However, the plot was only so-so, and the editing... sucked. It was just way too LONG. I mean I got my $9 worth since from the time I sat down, it was almost 3 hours later I got up after all the previews and stuff. But when you keep checking your watch, and the person next to you is asleep in the chair, that doesn't bode well.

However, there is one thing that I have to point out... The pirates... Now in the movie... They are ugly son's of bitches. But they are meant to be ugly. I mean some of those guys are so nasty with their rotten teeth, charred flesh... and don't get me started on the hair.

However... in real life... the two male leads Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp are quite the eye candy, depending on your tastes.

So since the movie wasn't so great, here is my tribute to the record breaking Pirates movie... These two clips will probably bring you more joy than the entire movie will.

Look Up In The Sky

Well it's summer and that means the normal selection of summer big budget special-effects laden blockbusters are being flown into movie theaters across the country. It started the other week with X:Men - The Last Stand and continues into June and beyond. One of the most hotly anticipated films of 2006 is without a doubt Superman Returns, which opens June 28th. After the success of last year's Batman Begins, I have no doubt DC and Warner Bros. will have another huge hit on their hands.

But unlike Batman in his latest film, people are starting to "out" Superman because of the supposed gay way he is being portrayed in the movie. Now before I go any further, I'm not a professional movie critic, so I didn't get an advanced screening of the film. I am simply basing this on an article printed in a recent issue of The Advocate magazine.

But this got me thinking, do comic book characters have special appeal to gay men? Well you'd have to do a lot of research to confirm or deny that, so I'll just talk about my own experiences. I still go every Wednesday to the comic book store up the street to get my weekly fix of books. I mainly buy Batman and Spider-Man comics, although I did read Superman for over 15 years uninterrupted until I slowed down my collecting habits about 2-3 years ago. But in thinking back, before I even had come out to myself as gay, I remember being oddly attracted to certain male comic book characters. From the tight outfits to the rippling muscles and the way they always managed to save the day, especially if for whatever reason, their shirt had been ripped off in the process! Now the classic comics of the 40s and 50s drew shirtless heroes like Ken dolls with little to no attention to their physique. But the more modern day books of the 90s and beyond inlcuding the sexy Hawkman book are definitely quite detailed depictions of what a real man looks like. And that can be HOT down to chest hair, pecs with nipples, perfect six pack, and more. Some of the "mature" books from DC's Vertigo line have gone as far as to illustrate naked men right down to their penis, but that is the exception and not what I am really focusing on here.

But eye candy aside, the Advocate article brings up another interesting point. Most comic book characters live secret lives. Clark Kent and Superman are kept separate for a reason. Peter Parker can't be Spider-Man 24/7 because he needs to keep that a secret. But maybe, as a youth growing up and trying to come to terms with my own sexuality, I could relate to these characters and their so called double lives more than I realized at the time. Having to hide a secret because of the fear of what happens when others find out is a common problem that goes beyond just sexuality. If you are hiding anything big in your life, it is easy to sympathize with comic book characters and their day to day struggles keeping their true identity a secret.

Lastly, I wanted to touch upon the recent X:Men movie and the concept of the government trying to cure mutants of their disease. In the film, a new vaccine is developed that can be given to a mutant to turn them back to a "normal" human being. As expected, this meets with controversy on both sides of the issue. Mutants who are already made to feel like they are outcasts, now in order to be accepted in society, need to be cured of something they were born with. This struggle, while fictional, begs the question... What if it was homosexuality that the government suddenly found a "cure" for? As a gay male, would I take this needle in the arm to no longer be a card-carrying fag? Well to be honest, the answer for me would be NO. I would not ever want to change who I am and what I enjoy because someone else thinks it is not normal. Part of what makes this world a great place is the diversity. If we were all the same, how boring would that be: variety is the spice of life. Sure sometimes I think it would be nice to "fit in" with mainstream society, but then I am reminded that I already do fit in just fine. The people that have a problem with gays are the people I wouldn't want to associate with anyway because they aren't open minded to accept people who are different from themselves... And I have no time for people like that in my life.

So wow, comic books are more powerful than I thought... Next time you are reading a comic, or watching a hit movie based off of one, just remember these fictional characters are much more real than you can imagine! Up, up, and away!
